Our Sewing School opened in 2007 and we offer a range of sewing classes, courses, workshops and 1-2-1 private tuition for all abilities, whether you are a complete beginner, returning to sewing or already an experienced sewer.

When do our courses take place?
Our day courses take place at the weekend but some are also offered on a Friday. Our evening classes take place on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Courses are held at our shop in Hatfield Heath, Hertfordshire. For more information about our location, please take a look at our Visit Us page.

I can't find the subject I am looking for or dates listed are not suitable?
If you do not see the course/date you require listed on our Course Schedule, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your request.
We add new subjects regurlarly. Please let us know if you would like us to add a particular subject to our course listings.
What we aim to provide in our courses?
We try to inspire students with a variety of ideas, methods and creativity helping them to achieve the simplest and most effective results. We tailor our courses to individual needs of students and provide clearly written notes/instructions.
How many students do we teach at a course?
We provide a friendly and relaxed environment teaching a maximum of four students at any one time. Due to COVID regulations and social distancing measures, we are currently only teaching two students per class.
Which courses are suitable for beginners?
All courses are suitable for beginners unless otherwise stated e.g. Follow on course.
Do I need to bring a sewing machine/overlocker?
Yes, if you have one. It is best to learn techniques on your own machine.
Don't worry if you don't have a sewing machine/overlocker, we have spare machines that you may borrow during the course.
Do I need to bring lunch?
Yes, please bring your own lunch or if you are attending a course at The Flowerpot, it is located next to The Village Tearoom and they have a Takeaway Menu or you can sit in.
We provide refreshments throughout the course including decaf options and hot chocolate. Please let us know if you have any allergies e.g. milk allergy, lactose intolerant etc.
